We’ve have just been hired as the temp DBA or developer for a website getting hammered by users. Our job is to figure out what is wrong with the site and fix the system. Server settings, memory pressure, disk configurations, index options – we run the gauntlet of fixing a SQL Server built by AppDevs that has just run into a wall of web scale. This presentation is geared towards both database administrators and developers interested in improving the performance of website applications running against SQL Server databases. We’ll be using the StackOverFlow.com data dumps as our real world scenario.
