March 2012 Meeting

Rob Sullivan is our speaker. Rob is a bona fide Alpha Nerd, SQL Server DBA by day and code slinger by night. He has been the token DBA on This Developers Life, SQL Dude for Tekpub, open source contributor to .NET Micro ORMS and speaker. He is an active member and speaker at various Oklahoma City User Groups as well as being a co-founder/officer of his beloved Oklahoma City SQL Server Developers Group. The title for the talk is:

With Microsoft going “All in” on the cloud and marketing teams being relentless in their promotion, it seems like the cloud isn’t going to just be a fad. What does cloud even mean and why should people in the trenches like us care? We will answer those questions and more as we leave the confines of locahost and look at various cloud implementations including Microsofts own cloud service : SQL Azure.
