*** We are meeting a new location. See below for details ***
Rob Sullivan ( t / b ) is our in person speaker. Below are the details: Rob is a bona fide Alpha Nerd and database expert. His professional title is Senior Data Magistrate at Raisemore.com where he keeps both data and ops in a row. When he isn’t lording over AppDevs and Architects, he can be found truncating vast amounts of pizza, ETLing burritos and breaking down the execution plans of video games.
While SQL Server is the 3rd most used database in the world, the landscape of how we build applications and the technology supporting them is quickly changing. As if keeping up with SQL Server isn’t enough on its own, we now have to deal with the terms and technology that comes with NoSQL (Not-Only-SQL) as well as fast moving, feature rich open source Relational DBs. In this session, we will explore some of the popular data stores, why AppDevs like using them and how your skills in SQL Server translate to them.
We will also have an opening talk from Matthew Brimer (t) titled: How to (legally) break into your server and SQL in 15 minutes
Matthew Brimer has 8 years experience with SQL Server, 3 of which was spent as a Database Security expert for a Department of Defense Agency. Matt also holds several Security and Microsoft Certifications, is the Vice President of OKCSQL and is the Event Chair for SQL Saturday Oklahoma City.
